Our Story

Established in 2010, Hotel Royal Swiss began as a small family-run lodge with just 15 rooms. Founded by the Thapa family, who have called the Chitwan region home for generations, our hotel was born from a deep love for this unique ecosystem and a desire to share it with the world.

What started as a modest venture has grown into one of Sauraha's most respected hotels, but our core values remain unchanged. We believe in authentic hospitality, sustainable tourism, and creating meaningful connections between our guests and the incredible natural world that surrounds us.

Today, Hotel Royal Swiss continues to be family-owned and operated, with the second generation now actively involved in the business. This ensures that the personal touch and attention to detail that our guests have come to expect remains at the heart of everything we do.
